GENEVA \u2014 A Waterloo man is accused of breaking into a city residence and assaulting a female, city police said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Aleem J. Whitfield, 36, was charged with first-degree burglary.<\/p>\n
Police said that on May 24, Whitfield forcibly entered a home and physically assaulted a female, who was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with serious injuries and later released. They said Whitfield, a convicted felon, fled the scene prior to their arrival and that he turned himself in on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Whitfield was taken to the Ontario County jail for arraignment, police said.<\/p>\n
Lt. John VanSavage said an assault charge is likely to be levied in the case, possibly through grand jury.<\/p>\n
