{"id":66694,"date":"2025-08-08T03:42:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T03:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/66694\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T03:42:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T03:42:09","slug":"man-sentenced-in-iowa-for-illegally-returning-to-the-united-states-after-being-deported-twice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/66694\/","title":{"rendered":"Man sentenced in Iowa for illegally returning to the United States after being deported twice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) &#8211; A man was sentenced in Cedar Rapids for illegally returning to the United States after being deported twice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In May 2025, 35-year-old Yoni Omar Alvarado-Gomes, a citizen of Honduras, pleaded guilty to one count of being found in the United States after illegally reentering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say Alvarado-Gomes admitted to illegally returning to the United States without permission after being deported. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He was previously deported in 2009 and 2013, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In April 2025, he was arrested for driving without a license and speeding. Immigration officials found him at the Tama County Jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alvarado-Gomes was sentenced to over three years in prison along with one year of supervised release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KCRG.
