\n\tToho<\/a> has confirmed that \u201cDorohedoro<\/a>\u201d is in production on a third season.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe anime\u2019s second season concluded in April.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDorohedoro\u201d is adapted from Q Hayashida\u2019s manga of the same name, which debuted in 2000 and ran for 18 years across 23 volumes. The property built a dedicated international following over that span through its unique worldview, dark humor and chaotic storytelling. When the anime adaptation first arrived in 2020, it defied expectations for a screen adaptation and went on to earn strong critical notices.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe anime follows Caiman, an amnesiac man whose head was transformed into that of a lizard by a sorcerer, and his partner Nikaido as they search for the one responsible for the curse. No release timeline for Season 3 has been announced.<\/p>\n

\n\tMAPPA, the animation studio behind the previous two seasons \u2013 also known for \u201cJujutsu Kaisen\u201d and \u201cZombie Land Saga\u201d \u2013 will again handle production. Hayashi Yuichiro, who directed both earlier seasons as well as \u201cAttack on Titan: The Final Season,\u201d is returning to the helm. To mark the announcement, Hayashi shared a commemorative illustration of the character Haru mid-song.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe renewal caps a notable year for the franchise. Seasons 1 and 2 arrived on multiple North American platforms simultaneously in April, bringing new audiences into the world of the Hole. All episodes of both seasons are currently streaming on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu\/Disney+, Rakuten and Viki.<\/p>\n

\n\tToho, the Japanese entertainment and distribution company behind the \u201cGodzilla\u201d franchise and \u201cMy Hero Academia,\u201d has been expanding its international anime footprint in recent years through its Toho Animation label.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Toho has confirmed that \u201cDorohedoro\u201d is in production on a third season.
