Bad Bunny will soon be slicing it up with the rest of the star-studded cast of the upcoming film \u201cToy Story 5\u201d as the voice of a new character, Pizza with Sunglasses. <\/p>\n
Disney and Pixar announced<\/a> the Grammy winner\u2019s inclusion in the movie Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n The \u201cNuevayol\u201d singer\u2019s character is described as \u201c[e]ffortlessly cool and mysterious\u201d and a \u201cmember of a small but mighty community of forgotten toys that live in an abandoned backyard shed.\u201d<\/p>\n He joins a voice cast that has long included Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack and Wallace Shawn. Bad Bunny will be part of a host of newcomers to the franchise, alongside Conan O\u2019Brien, Craig Robinson and Greta Lee \u2014 she plays the lead villain Lilypad, a smart tablet that threatens to render the other toys obsolete.<\/p>\n The \u201cDakiti\u201d artist\u2019s role in the long-running animated franchise marks his first voice-acting gig, but not his first foray into the world of \u201cToy Story.\u201d<\/p>\n While cooped up in his house during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bad Bunny posted several videos<\/a> of himself on social media re-creating and improvising skits with \u201cToy Story\u201d figurines. He dubbed the series \u201cToy Story in the Times of Coronavirus.\u201d In the sketches he flexed his vocal abilities by putting on over-the-top voices as he played the roles of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rex and Forky. <\/p>\n The 32-year-old reggaetonero previously landed supporting roles in such films as \u201cHappy Gilmore 2<\/a>,\u201d \u201cBullet Train,<\/a>\u201d \u201cCaught Stealing<\/a>\u201d and \u201cCassandro<\/a>.\u201d Earlier this year, he was cast in his first leading role in Puerto Rican rapper Residente\u2019s directorial debut \u201cPorto Rico.<\/a>\u201d <\/p>\n The role continues Bad Bunny\u2019s year of milestones. In early February, the \u201cBaile Inolvidable\u201d singer became the first artist to win the Grammy Award for album of the year<\/a> with an all-Spanish LP (\u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos\u201d). A few weeks later, he made history once again by becoming the first fully Spanish-language act to headline the Super Bowl halftime show<\/a>.<\/p>\n
