Being a parent is difficult, but being a parent and an actor comes with its own unique challenges, and Paul Rudd knows that first-hand.<\/p>\n
The \u201cFriendship\u201d actor revealed he accidentally traumatized his son with one of his movies. “There’s one time I had done a ‘Reno 911’! movie,” he told Jake Shane on the \u201cTherapuss\u201d podcast. “My son, when he was really little, turned on the TV, and this \u2018Reno 911!\u2019 movie was on television, and it was right at a moment when Patton Oswalt is \u2014 it’s ridiculous \u2014 he’s shooting me with a machine gun. It’s bloody. And he saw me getting murdered, and he was a little kid, and it really traumatized him. He didn’t like it.”<\/p>\n
Rudd explained that he\u2019s never actually shown his kids his films, but they\u2019ve found them in other ways. “It’s funny. I’ve never showed my kids any of the stuff,” he said before speaking directly to his teenage daughter, Darby. “But it was you. It was one time when you were little, a babysitter showed you.”<\/p>\n
The babysitter had watched \u201cClueless\u201d with Darby, which Rudd wasn\u2019t thrilled about. “I was a little bummed out, I’ll be honest. I was like, ‘Wait a minute. Hold on. You can’t do that.’ She\u2019s never seen anything I had done,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously, Rudd recalled watching his arc on \u201cFriends\u201d with his daughter. “I hadn’t really revisited many of those episodes. But now that she’s watching it, it’s like, ‘Oh, I remember this,’ and I tell her some story about it,” he told People<\/a>. “I’m far enough away from some things now that I can allow myself to be a little nostalgic about it.
