Round 1 Results<\/a><\/p>\n

CARLSBAD, Calif. \u2013 <\/p>\n

Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team opened play at the NCAA Championship on Friday with a 295 to stand in a tie for 20th place at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys’ 7-over total knotted them with Arkansas State at the par-72, 7,528-yard layout. UCLA posted an opening 8-under 280 to grab the team lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A trio of players, San Diego’s Ian Maspat, Arizona State’s Connor Williams and Alabama’s William Jennings all shared the individual lead at 6-under 66.<\/p>\n

Junior Eric Lee<\/a> led the OSU starting five with an even-par 72. Lee bogeyed the opening hole before registering 12 consecutive pars. He would bogey the 14th before carding back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th to move back to level par for the day and come in tied for 35th place.<\/p>\n

Junior Preston Stout<\/a> finished the day tied for 57th place after posting a 1-over 73, while classmate Gaven Lane<\/a> carded a 74 to come in tied for 74th place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Junior Ethan Fang’s<\/a> 76 tied him for 100th place, while sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson’s<\/a> 78 tied him for 130th place.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys will once again be paired with Virginia and Arkansas tomorrow and will begin play at 6:52 a.m. (PST).\u00a0<\/p>\n
