Bonnie Edwards has an eye for beauty.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The gallerist with a nearly three-decade long background in the arts heads a South Fork gallery and is bringing skillfully selected art to Greenport \u2014 but not just to any ordinary viewing space \u2014 to Little Loaves Gallery<\/a> (177 Main St., Greenport, 631-477-6199).<\/p>\n

Edwards kicked things off with a soft-opened on Mother\u2019s Day and is fully-operational now.<\/p>\n

Upon entering, Edwards hopes art enthusiasts and artisan loaf lovers alike will feel like they\u2019re being transported to a quaint European caf\u00e9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On one side of the shop, cases and shelves are stocked full of loaves from New York City-based bread makers like Balthazar Bakery<\/a>, Caf\u00e9 d\u2019Avignon<\/a> and Amy\u2019s Bread<\/a>, plus other purveyors like The Hungry Gnome<\/a>. Assortments of sourdough, focaccia, baguettes, pull-apart bread and other varieties are available, plus local products from Butter Me Up Kitchen<\/a>, Sag Harbor Honey<\/a>, other East End businesses and international treats like Italian oils and Lavazza<\/a> coffee, Greek cookies, English toast and Spanish meat.<\/p>\n

Look to your left while walking in and see loads of art from local artists, like Janet Jennings and off-of-Long Island creatives like John Randall Nelson. Edwards, owner of Chase Edwards Gallery<\/a> in Bridgehampton and Palm Beach, Fla., plans to bring rotating shows of featured artists to the North Fork, giving glimmers of the informative nature of her longstanding exhibition spaces in the new caf\u00e9-like setting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI want people to have a nice coffee, a piece of cake and talk about the art,\u201d says Edwards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Being in the industry with Chase Edwards Gallery for over 15 years in several locations (Laguna Beach, Calif.; Palm Desert, Calif.; Maui, Hawaii; Nantucket, Mass.; Santa Fe, N.M. and New York City) she has seen the collection and discussion of art evolve.<\/p>\n

\u201cViewing in the gallery itself has turned into Thursday night hangouts,\u201d says Edwards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In her galleries, she hopes to encourage curiosity around art, conversations about interpretation and collecting meaningful works instead of sourcing mass-produced pieces online.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And while they\u2019re at it, in her new Greenport location, customers can also appreciate the skill and creativity that goes into baking beautiful bread or combining interesting flavors.\u00a0<\/p>\n
