{"id":675559,"date":"2026-05-31T06:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T06:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/675559\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T06:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T06:51:14","slug":"more-than-200-whales-spotted-off-cape-cod-boston-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/675559\/","title":{"rendered":"More than 200 whales spotted off Cape Cod &#8211; Boston News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOSTON (WHDH) &#8211; The New England Aquarium\u2019s aerial survey team spotted more than 200 humpback whales off the coast of Cape Cod on a single survey Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>The Aquarium\u2019s Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life aerial survey team saw a total of 222 whales east of Cape Cod, something the agency said is an exciting sign that whale activity is ramping up in the region. <\/p>\n<p>Aquarium researchers said they observed a range of behaviors for the whales, including bubble-net feeding, kick-feeding, lunging, breaching, and flipper-slapping.<\/p>\n<p>The New England Aquarium\u2019s aerial survey team has been conducting surveys across New England since 2011, collecting long-term data on whales, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, and other marine species.
