Former Boston Bruins<\/a> scoring winger Jake DeBrusk could be on the move this offseason.<\/p>\n

Boston selected DeBrusk with the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, but he didn\u2019t make his debut until the 2017-18 season. After seven years with Boston, he inked a seven-year, $38.5 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks on July 1, 2024.<\/p>\n

However, after just two years with the Canucks, DeBrusk could be on the move, as NHL insider Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet named DeBrusk a trade candidate heading into the offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation just has not worked out as planned with Jake DeBrusk in his two years with the Canucks,\u201d Kypreos wrote<\/a>. \u201cHis own production has remained relatively steady in recent years, but he\u2019s meant to be a big, complementary winger with strong linemates instead of a team\u2019s goal-scoring leader, which he was in Vancouver this season. He makes $5.5 million through the 2030-31 season, which is not a bad rate for a player of his skill as the cap rises.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLots of teams are thinking long and hard about this player, and getting him to waive his no-move out of Vancouver is not expected to be an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeBrusk recorded 23 goals and 19 assists for 42 points in 81 games last season with the Canucks. His career-high is 50 points, which he accomplished in 64 games with the Bruins in the 2022-23 season, as he recorded 27 goals and 23 assists.<\/p>\n

At age 29, the scoring winger would likely be highly-sought after as he can add some secondary scoring to the lineup and play in the middle-six.<\/p>\n
