SACRAMENTO POLICE SAY IT STARTED JUST AFTER 630, WHEN THEY ATTEMPTED TO STOP A CAR IN THE AREA OF 11TH AND D STREETS. THEY SAY THE DRIVER DID NOT STOP AND LED THEM ON A PURSUIT. I DO WANT TO SHIFT YOUR ATTENTION INTO THAT DIRECTION, WHERE SACRAMENTO POLICE TOLD US THAT AFTER 630 OFFICERS HAD TRIED TO STOP A CAR NEAR NORTH 11TH STREET AND NORTH D STREET, THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND A PURSUIT BEGAN AS A RESULT. BUT CHECK OUT THIS SHOCKING VIDEO WE RECEIVED FROM SOMEONE WALKING NEARBY THAT SHOWS THE DRIVER OF A RED CAR TRYING TO GET AWAY. BUT THEN THE PURSUIT EVENTUALLY COMING TO AN END. RIGHT HERE NEAR 12TH AND C STREET. AFTER OFFICERS SUCCESSFULLY PITTED THE CAR. NOW POLICE ALSO TELL US THE SUSPECT HAS BEEN DETAINED. BUT BACK OUT HERE, LIVE. THAT SUSPECT DID HIT A PATROL CAR AFTER THAT PIT MANEUVER, AND ONE OFFICER HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL. BUT WE ARE TOLD BY POLICE THAT THAT OFFICER IS EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. The Sacramento Police Department said officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle without license plates near North 11th and North D streets around 6:30 p.m. Officers approached the vehicle and observed the driver in possession of narcotic paraphernalia, according to police. That’s when the vehicle took off and a chase began.The suspect, 44-year-old Michael Littleton, was driving a red Kia and hit the patrol vehicle near 12th an C streets. He was arrested and booked into jail on charges related to narcotic paraphernalia, pursuit causing injury and assault involving a weapon against an officer, according to police. The police officer sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital later Saturday night.
