The Deluxe Edition covers for both College Football 27 and Madden NFL 27 were revealed over the weekend in a product listing through the Microsoft Store on Xbox, though it has since been removed from the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This marks the third installment of the College Football video game series since EA Sports revived and renamed NCAA Football after an 11-year hiatus<\/a>, but it will be the first cover that features a coach at the forefront of the design since former Stanford head coach Bill Walsh was the namesake of the game<\/a> in 1994-95.<\/p>\n

Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, who unexpectedly led the Hoosiers to a 16-0 record, the Big Ten title and their first national championship last season, is front and center on the Deluxe Edition cover and is flanked by Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and Miami (Fla.) wide receiver Malachi Toney.<\/p>\n

USC quarterback Jayden Maiava, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy, Texas defensive end Colin Simmons, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore and mascots from WKU, LSU and Arizona State also appear on the cover while Indiana\u2019s Memorial Stadium serves as the backdrop.<\/p>\n

Based on their location, it\u2019s likely that Cignetti, Moore and Toney will also be on the Standard Edition of College Football 27, similar to how Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams and Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith were at the forefront of the Deluxe Edition cover of College Football 26<\/a> and the only players on the Standard Edition.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, will grace the cover of Madden NFL 27 after he threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdown with just seven interceptions to lead the Bears to the NFC North division title and their first playoff appearance since 2020.<\/p>\n

Williams becomes the first player in franchise history to grace the main cover of the iconic franchise named after Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden, though offensive lineman Roberto Garza was actually the face of Madden NFL 09: En Espa\u00f1ol after EA Sports briefly offered a version with Spanish commentary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Former linebacker Brian Urlacher was also on the cover of NFL 2K3<\/a>, which rivaled the Madden franchise until EA Sports signed an exclusive licensing deal with the NFL in December 2004. As with previous installments, Williams will be featured with a different pose for the Standard Edition cover of Madden NFL 27.<\/p>\n

College Football 27 is set to be released in mid-July while Madden NFL 27 will hit shelves in early August, though we\u2019ll likely find out the exact dates and have the Standard and Deluxe covers revealed during EA Sports\u2019 Opening Drive on June 4.<\/p>\n
