I WAS RIGHT IN TIME FOR HURRICANE. IT’S IN. YOU’RE GOING TO KEEP THEM ALL THE WAY FOR US. ALL RIGHT. I’M GONNA TRY DO EVERYTHING I CAN WE HAVE THE EXPERT ON THEM. WE’RE NOT GOING TO NEED IS GOING TO KEEP THEM HOPE THAT THAT’S THE WAY THE TALKS ALL NINA, RIGHT. BUT, YOU KNOW, EVEN IN EL NINO YEAR, 8 TO 14 STORMS, AS IS THE FORECAST. SO IF ONE OF THEM HEADS OUR WAY THAT WOULD MAKE IT A BAD YEAR FOR US, WHICH IS WHY WE WILL PREPARE JUST AS WE ALWAYS DO. ALSO, KEEP IN MIND NOW THAT IS JUNE FIRST. IT’S NOT LIKE WE NECESSARILY FLIP THE SWITCH IN RIGHT AWAY. WE GET INTO THE HEART OF HURRICANE SEASON. TYPICALLY THE START TENDS TO BE A LITTLE QUIETER. THIS IS CHARTING OUT THE TYPICAL ACTIVITY THROUGHOUT THE HURRICANE SEASON PEAKING AS WE GET INTO AUGUST SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER. SO GENERALLY, IT’S LATER IN THE SEASON. THINGS REALLY START TO GET GOING. IF YOU’RE SO LAGGING BEHIND ON YOUR PREPS, YOU STILL HAVE SOME TIME TO GO TO GET THOSE KITS TOGETHER TO GET THINGS IN ORDER. AND I’LL TAKE A MUCH DEEPER LOOK INTO WHAT’S COMING UP FOR THIS YEAR’S HURRICANE SEASON. THE FORECAST COMING UP IN THE NEXT HALF HOUR. BUT LET’S FOCUS SCENE IN THE RAIN THREAT HERE FOR TODAY. WE ARE TRACKING SOME RAIN OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE THAT ONSHORE WIND PATTERN IN PLACE THAT’S BEEN IN PLACE OVER THE LAST COUPLE DAYS. SO RAIN CHANCES LATER ON TODAY WILL FAVOR OUR INLAND SPOTS. THINK MOST OF US BY THE COAST AND UP DRY THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY INTO AND THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS BUT I’M TRACKING A COLD FRONT THAT’S GOING TO NOSE IN HERE LATER ON THIS WEEK. AND THAT’S GOING TO BRING THE RAIN CHANCES UP. WE BEGIN WITH A LOOK AT GULF COAST LIVE RADAR RAIN IS STARTING TO INTENSIFY INLAND AS THAT SEABREEZE BEGINS TO PUSH FURTHER OFF TO THE EAST. WE EVEN HAVE SOME LIGHTNING FORMING UP IN THIS LITTLE CELL THAT’S ABOUT TO TRACK ITS WAY OUT OF OUR VIEWING AREA. YOU CAN SORT OF SEE HOW THE ATMOSPHERE IS ALREADY LINING UP FOR YOU. EAST OF 75 PARTICULAR GLADES COUNTY, HENDRY COUNTY INTERIOR COLLIER. THAT’S GONNA BE YOUR BEST SHOT TO SEE SOME MORE LEGITIMATE RAIN LATER ON HERE TODAY. IT’S WIDESPREAD COVERAGE FROM THE LAKE ON EASTWARD AND THERE WON’T BE MUCH OUT THERE THIS AFTERNOON FROM 75 BACK TO THE BEACHES. IF YOU MISSED OUT IN THAT LIGHT RAIN THIS MORNING, LIKE SOME OF US ON LAKE COUNTY. YEAH, I THINK YOU’RE OUT OF LUCK GOING FORWARD THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY. PERHAPS A FEW POCKETS OF DRIZZLE BY 3 O’CLOCK. BUT OUR MODELS REALLY FAVORING AGAIN THOSE INLAND SPOTS FOR THE DOWNPOURS AND STORMS LATER ON, THEY’LL TURN FEISTY. THERE COULD BE A FEW HEAVIER STORMS OUT THERE BY THE BANKS OF LAKE OKEECHOBEE LATER ON. BUT TO WRENSHALL RAIN, SOME GUSTY WINDS THAT ALL FADES AWAY PRETTY QUICKLY. LET’S GO INTO THE OVERNIGHT. THERE’S 8 O’CLOCK. EVERYBODY IS DRY ALONG THE GULF COAST WILL KEEP IT THAT WAY IN 2 AND THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, THERE’S THE RAIN TOTALS, NOT MUCH BY THE COAST. SOME HIGHER NUMBERS DEEP INLAND TOWARDS THE EAST COAST. AND I THINK YOU MORE OR LESS REPEAT THAT FOR TOMORROW HERE, TOO. THERE WON’T BE MUCH BY THE COAST WILL BE SOME DOWNPOURS AND STORMS INLAND. AND THEN THAT FRONT NOSES IN. THAT BRINGS MORE WIDESPREAD STORMS TO THE AREA BOTH WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. THE COMBO, THE WIDESPREAD STORM COVERAGE AND THE CLOUD COVER WE SEE LIMITS OUR TEMPERATURES FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. HIGHS HOLDING IN THE 80’S, THE WAKE OF THE FRONT DRY AIR SWEEPS IN AND WE WARM THINGS BACK UP TO THE 90’S. BUT LOOK AT THE RAIN CHANCES FOR THE WEEKEND. LOOKING GOOD. SATURDAY WAS A CLOUDY, DAMP AND DREARY DAY. THIS PREVIOUS WEEKEND. I THINK NEXT SATURDAY LOOKING MUCH IMPROVED. NOW, HERE’S YOUR FRONT NOSING TOWARDS THE AREA EARLY ON WEDNESDAY AND YOU SEE THE RAIN SORT RESPONDING TO THAT. I THINK WE’RE TALKING FAIRLY WIDESPREAD RAIN COVERAGE AS WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY. EVEN THURSDAY, OUR MODEL PUTS THE FRONT OUT OF HERE, BUT IT’S STILL LAGGING OVER. TOP OF US HELPS TO SPARK ANOTHER WAVE OF WIDESPREAD DOWNPOURS AND STORMS. ON TOP OF THAT, WE HAVE EASTERLY WINDS IN PLACE THAT WILL KEEP THE STORM ON THE SEA BREEZE PINNED ON OUR SIDE OF THE STATE EVEN FRIDAY. INTERESTING SET UP HERE IN NEW LOW SORT OF FORMS ALONG THAT FRONT WILL TRY TO WRAP SOME MOISTURE AROUND IT COULD SEE SOME ADDITIONAL SHOWERS. BUT I THINK BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE BACK HALF OF THE WEEK, FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND THAT BRING SOME DRIER AIR AND RAIN TOTALS. NOT TERRIBLY IMPRESSIVE. HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH SOME SPOTS COULD SEE A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT. AND AGAIN, AS FAR AS PLANNING OUT YOUR WEEK, YOUR STAYS IN THE BUNCH AS THAT FRONT MOVES IN WEDNESD\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tRain chances will favor our inland locations Monday afternoon and evening, leaving most spots by the coast sunny and dry to close out the day.The Gulf Coast remains in an onshore wind pattern today. While that brought patchy drizzle to areas close to the coast this morning, the sea breeze will sail far inland during the afternoon, taking the rain chances inland and to the east coast with it. Expect a hot and muggy afternoon, then with highs mainly in the lower 90s and feels like temperatures pushing toward 100\u00b0F. The onshore wind pattern will hold Tuesday, bringing a few showers to coastal areas early as storms spread and build inland during the afternoon and evening. Highs will hold in the lower 90s. By Wednesday, a weak front will nose into the area. This front will help to spark widespread downpours and storms both Wednesday and Thursday as it slowly marches southward through the area. It will also keep skies cloudy, helping to drop high temperatures into the 80s both days. A shot of drier air will work into the area in the wake of the front, dropping rain chances for Friday and Saturday. Tracking the Tropics:The Atlantic hurricane season officially begins today and continues through the end of November. There are currently no areas of concern across the Atlantic, however, and no tropical development is expected over the next 7 days.
