Richmond Randle running back Landen Williams-Callis<\/a> \u2014 Texas high school football\u2019s most electrifying player \u2014 graces the secondary cover of the magazine after setting the Lone Star State on fire over the past two seasons. With his 2024 state championship trophy riding shotgun and sunglasses on, Williams-Callis appears under the headline \u201cTHE LEGEND BEGINS: Landen Williams-Callis.\u201d He becomes the first solo high school football player to appear on a cover of Dave Campbell\u2019s Texas Football since Midland Lee\u2019s Cedric Benson in 2000.<\/p>\n The cover was conceptualized and shot by Houston-based photographer Harrison Arceneaux, with design help from Lubbock-based creative agency Jackalope Creative.<\/p>\n \u201cThe best covers tell the story of a moment in Texas football, and Landen Williams-Callis is this moment,\u201d editor-in-chief Greg Tepper said. \u201cHe\u2019s one of those rare players whose highlights travel beyond his own community and capture the imagination of fans across the state.
