{"id":67866,"date":"2025-08-08T15:19:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T15:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/67866\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T15:19:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T15:19:08","slug":"saint-paul-educators-agree-to-employment-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/67866\/","title":{"rendered":"Saint Paul educators agree to employment contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 33,000 students attend Saint Paul Public Schools.<\/p>\n<p>ST PAUL, Minn. \u2014 Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) and its largest labor union have reached tentative agreements on the 2025-2027 contracts, according to a press release Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SPPS shared that the Saint Paul Federation of Educators (SPFE) agreed to contracts for licensed staff, educational assistants and school and community service professionals, after months of bargaining. The agreements were reached ahead of the school year and without mediation &#8211; for the first time in almost 20 years &#8211; according to the SPPS statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis agreement shows what\u2019s possible when we come to the table with respect, transparency, and a shared commitment to our students,\u201d said SPFE President Leah VanDassor in the statement Friday. \u201cStarting the school year with a settled contract allows us to focus on what matters most \u2013 our classrooms, our kids, and our community. Now, we\u2019re ready to work together on this fall\u2019s referendum and continue building the public schools Saint Paul deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Next, union members and the SPPS Board of Education must approve the agreements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly grateful to our district bargaining team as well as the Saint Paul Federation of Educators for working openly and collaboratively to settle this contract.
