According to HAROPA PORT, this major stage of the maritime construction project consists of building the submerged base of the structure, which will support the installation of the Accropode units.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"468\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/deme-768x468.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large\" alt=\"\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>photo courtesy of HAROPA PORT<\/p>\n<p>Started in mid-February 2026, the\u00a0foundation works involve constructing the submerged base of the future lock access channel breakwater.<\/p>\n<p>This foundation forms the structural base of the breakwater. It is made up of sand and gravel materials specifically suited to maritime conditions, part of which comes from the beneficial reuse of dredged materials from the future navigation channel.
