SUNRISE, Fla.\u202f\u2013\u202fFlorida Panthers\u00a0President of Hockey Operations & General Manager\u00a0Bill Zito\u00a0announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenseman\u00a0Matvei Shuravin\u00a0on a three-year, entry-level contract\u00a0commencing\u00a0in 2026-27.<\/p>\n
\u201cMatvei is a\u00a0poised, two-way defenseman who reads the game exceptionally well,\u201d said Zito.\u00a0\u201cWe’re\u00a0looking forward to watching him progress as a professional in North America.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shuravin, 20, skated in 21\u00a0Kontinental\u00a0Hockey League (KHL) games with CSKA Moscow in 2025-26, notching one assist. He also appeared in 12 games with\u00a0Zvezda Moscow\u00a0(VHL) and 15 games with CSKA\u2019s junior club, CSKA Red Army (MHL).\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-4, 218-pound native of Moscow, Russia, has played in 32 total KHL games with CSKA Moscow over the past three campaigns, logging three assists. With CSKA\u2019s junior club, he produced 24 points (4-20-24) in 38 games in 2024-25, tied for the most goals by a defenseman on the team while pacing their blueliners in assists and points.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shuravin\u00a0was selected by Florida in the third round (97th\u00a0overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
