\n\tRobert Pattinson<\/a> recently spoke to GQ magazine<\/a> as part of the publication\u2019s summer cover story on \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>\u201d and revealed he had a home gym installed in order to pack on muscle ahead of filming \u201cThe Batman<\/a>: Part II.\u201d The actor was doubling down on his fitness schedule after some viewers of 2022\u2019s \u201cThe Batman\u201d found his superhero physique underwhelming.<\/p>\n

\n\t \u201c[Everyone was like], \u2018You didn\u2019t work out at all.\u2019 I worked out every fucking day,\u201d Pattinson quipped. \u201cEven after that, I still look like I didn\u2019t work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o\u2019clock in the morning. I\u2019m like, It\u2019s just because I said it in an interview [once that exercise was uncool]. I was trying to sound cool!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson is returning to the role of Bruce Wayne\/Batman in director Matt Reeves\u2019 long-awaited sequel, which will also star the likes of Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson. The filmmaker teased last month that production on \u201cThe Batman: Part II\u201d was imminent by posting a first look photo<\/a> of the Batmobile racing down a snowy street. Not that Pattinson knew any details of the sequel\u2019s filming schedule when he spoke to GQ.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI just heard from the stunt guy the other day. He said, \u2018Ooh, 11 weeks of nights.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Excuse me?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018No one\u2019s even sent me a schedule,\u2019\u201d Pattinson said.<\/p>\n

\n\tTraining for \u201cThe Batman: Part II\u201d was probably easier for Pattinson after filming Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d which he told GQ magazine<\/a> was one of the most exhausting sets he\u2019s ever worked on. The actor filmed many of his scenes alongside Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland at the Castello di Santa Caterina on the island of Favignana in western Sicily. The shooting location required the cast and crew to walk up a path 900 feet in the air every day. Those who were not able to walk used a helicopter, which also transported the big pieces of film production equipment.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn the middle of our shoot, we had a location for two weeks where the crew had to start at the bottom of this path at call, go 900 feet up in the air, at whatever pace they could manage,\u201d Nolan told the publication.<\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson remembered sitting at a hotel bar during a day off filming \u201cand then people started drifting in [after set], and I\u2019ve never seen people look so exhausted. And this was only a third of the way. I started a third of the way through the movie, and they\u2019d already been to [two] countries by that point and people just looked like\u2026. I mean, at the end of every day people were\u00a0broken.\u201d<\/p>\n
