Nika Muhl is trying her best to stay upbeat despite being dealt yet another setback.<\/p>\n

Muhl, the No. 14 overall pick from the 2024 WNBA<\/a> Draft, suffered a torn ACL in October 2024 while playing for Turkish Super League club Besiktas. Unfortunately, she suffered yet another ACL tear earlier this year.<\/p>\n

This time around, Muhl sustained this injury while representing Croatia\u2019s national team in the FIBA Women\u2019s EuroBasket Qualifiers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeattle\u00a0Storm point guard,\u00a0Nika\u00a0M\u00fchl, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)\u00a0in her right knee during a game on\u00a0March 11, 2026,\u00a0while playing for\u00a0Croatia in the FIBA Women\u2019s EuroBasket Qualifiers,\u201d\u00a0the team said.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cM\u00fchl underwent successful surgery on March 31,\u00a02026\u00a0to repair the ligament and will miss the 2026 WNBA Season. She is taking steps towards a healthy recovery and updates on her progress and return to play will be made public when available.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muhl, who is in the early stages of her recovery, shared vacation photos from Croatia<\/a> this week. Unsurprisingly, she received plenty of love from her fans.<\/p>\n

“Absolute goddess,” one fan said.<\/p>\n

“God bless you enjoy the summer to the max,” a second fan wrote.<\/p>\n

“Nika why are you so fine,” another Instagram user commented.<\/p>\n

Muhl averaged 5.8 points and 5.2 assists per game during her time at UConn. Although she wasn’t considered a prolific scorer, she was so impressive on the other end of the floor that she was a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

The Seattle Storm weren’t able to carve out a huge role for Muhl during her rookie season. When she returns, however, she’ll have the chance to prove herself on a new team.<\/p>\n

Muhl was selected by the Portland Fire in the 2026 expansion draft. Hopefully, she’ll get the chance to make an impact for them next season.<\/p>\n
