CBS News has terminated the \u2060contract of 60 Minutes correspondent \u2060Scott Pelley, two sources at \u2060the network said on Tuesday, joining more than half a dozen departures in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear. And I have heard you,\u201d the show\u2019s \u200cexecutive producer, Nick Bilton, wrote in a Tuesday email to Pelley that was seen by Reuters.<\/p>\n
\u201cI therefore write on behalf of CBS News, Inc. (\u201cCBS\u201d) to inform you that your employment with CBS is terminated for cause effective immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pelley did not immediately respond when reached for comment.<\/p>\n
His termination from the network \u2060came amid media reports that he accused CBS News\u2019 editor-in-chief Bari Weiss of \u201cmurdering\u201d 60 Minutes.<\/p>\n
