{"id":682009,"date":"2026-06-03T14:54:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/682009\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T14:54:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:54:08","slug":"aaron-glenn-congrats-to-russell-wilson-on-tv-job-were-looking-at-qb-options","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/682009\/","title":{"rendered":"Aaron Glenn: Congrats to Russell Wilson on TV job, we&#8217;re looking at QB options"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Russell Wilson <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/russell-wilson-picks-tv-over-continuing-his-playing-career\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">is joining<\/a> CBS as an analyst on The NFL Today for the 2026 season and he chose that job over <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/russell-wilson-jets-made-an-offer-choosing-between-that-and-tv-role\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">an opportunity to serve<\/a> as the backup quarterback to Geno Smith with the Jets. <\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u2019s move into broadcasting came up during Jets head coach Aaron Glenn\u2019s press conference on Tuesday. The Jets currently have Brady Cook, Bailey Zappe, and fourth-round pick Cade Klubnik behind Smith and Glenn was asked about the impact Wilson\u2019s decision has on their plans for the No. 2 job. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing at all,\u201d Glenn said. \u201cI think the last time we talked I had said that we were looking at <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bP7zlmz4IT0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">number of quarterbacks<\/a>, and that\u2019s just what it was. Hopefully he will have a good TV career.
