{"id":683372,"date":"2026-06-04T06:34:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T06:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/683372\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T06:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T06:34:10","slug":"arm-soreness-has-kept-mac-jones-from-throwing-of-late","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/683372\/","title":{"rendered":"Arm soreness has kept Mac Jones from throwing of late"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 49ers <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/49ers-cancel-next-weeks-mandatory-minicamp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">canceled<\/a> next week\u2019s mandatory minicamp, so they will wrap up their offseason program on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>49ers backup quarterback Mac Jones did not throw last week or this week as he rests his throwing arm.<\/p>\n<p>Jones, though, isn\u2019t concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.49erswebzone.com\/articles\/201026-addresses-shoulder-soreness-offseason-rumors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Just a little soreness<\/a> in my shoulder,\u201d Jones said on Wednesday, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. \u201cEverything\u2019s clean and looks good, so just kind of being precautionary, I guess is the word. But yeah, I\u2019ll be ready for training camp.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones, 27, started eight games in place of Brock Purdy last season, and the 49ers went 5-3 in his starts. His success spurred trade rumors in the offseason, but the 49ers made it clear to him that they had no plans to trade him.<\/p>\n<p>While he wants another starting opportunity, Jones isn\u2019t in a rush to leave a good situation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also love it here, and I\u2019m not really in the business of leaving good people, so I\u2019m not mad about it at all,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI think it\u2019s a great organization, and I did a lot of fun stuff last year, but it\u2019s a new year. I feel like this is the first year I\u2019ve had the same offensive playbook, being in the NFL, so that\u2019s kind of nice.
