{"id":683838,"date":"2026-06-04T12:03:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/683838\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T12:03:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:03:15","slug":"former-nfler-nathan-peterman-goes-from-player-to-agent-in-new-path","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/683838\/","title":{"rendered":"Former NFLer Nathan Peterman goes from player to agent in new path"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former NFL quarterback Nathan Peterman has a new role with Range Sports.<\/p>\n<p>Peterman is joining as a player agent after the agency represented him during his eight-year pro career, in which he played for the Bills, Raiders, and Bears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got to live through what I\u2019m now getting tested on in the CBA,\u201d he said of his new career path. \u201cBeing up and down on a roster, being put on IR, negotiating contracts. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Peterman is expected to become a certified NFL agent within the next few months. <\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, he will be focused on talent identification for recruiting and NIL representation before transitioning to NFL representation upon his certification.<\/p>\n<p>Peterman\u2019s several years of experience in both college and professional football will help him guide young players and prospects through roster moves, contract negotiations, and locker-room relationships. <\/p>\n<p>Peterman was selected by Buffalo in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft after spending his college career at Tennessee and Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>At the time Jon Gruden said he would be the most NFL-ready quarterback of that draft class, which included Mitchell Trubisky, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39570098\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/nathan-peterman.jpg\" alt=\"New Orleans Saints player holding a football during training camp.\" class=\"wp-image-39570098\"  \/>Nathan Peterman called it quits on his NFL career.  Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>He made five starts and appeared in fifteen games in the NFL, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2018\/11\/13\/bills-put-nathan-peterman-out-of-his-misery\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bouncing from team to team<\/a> before his official retirement to pursue player representation. <\/p>\n<p>Peterman, 32, had a tryout at a rookie minicamp with the Broncos in May, but the team decided not to sign him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/11\/20\/bills-dumb-qb-experiment-blew-up-in-their-face-spectacularly\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">He\u2019s perhaps best remembered for infamously throwing five interceptions<\/a> in the first half of his first career start as a rookie before being benched. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Former NFL quarterback Nathan Peterman has a new role with Range Sports.
