\n\tIts persistence rewarded after more than two decades of appearances on Billboard\u2019s Mainstream Rock Airplay<\/a> chart, Black Label Society<\/a> has its first top 10 \u2014 and it\u2019s a record breaker.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Zakk Wylde<\/a>-led band rises to No. 9 on the June 6-dated survey with \u201cName in Blood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBlack Label Society first hit Mainstream Rock Airplay with \u201cStillborn,\u201d which peaked at No. 12 in 2003. Prior to \u201cName in Blood,\u201d \u201cStillborn\u201d stood as the band\u2019s top-peaking song on the chart; the group has 14 career entries, including three top 20s.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band\u2019s wait of 23 years, one month and three weeks between its first appearance and first top 10 is the lengthiest for any act in the chart\u2019s 45-year history. It passes the anticipation felt by Killswitch Engage<\/a>, which went 20 years, eight months and two weeks between \u201cThe End of Heartache\u201d in 2004 and maiden top 10 \u201cBelieve\u201d last year.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Black Label Society notches its first top 10 on the tally, frontman Wylde previously reached the region as featured on My Darkest Days<\/a>\u2019 \u201cPorn Star Dancing\u201d (No. 1 for two weeks in 2010). His guitar playing has appeared in the top 10 via his role as lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> from the late legend\u2019s 1988 album No Rest for the Wicked through 2022\u2019s Patient Number 9.<\/p>\n

\n\tBlack Label Society had one previous top 10 on a Billboard airplay chart: \u201cStillborn\u201d peaked at No. 3 on the since-discontinued Heritage Rock Airplay in 2003.<\/p>\n

\n\tConcurrently, \u201cName in Blood\u201d rises 37-31 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay<\/a> chart with 1.2 million audience impressions in the week ending May 28, according to Luminate.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song is the lead single from Engines of Demolition, Black Label Society\u2019s 12th studio album. The set bowed at No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart dated April 11 and has earned 51,000 equivalent album units to date.<\/p>\n
