\u201cJumanji\u201d actor James Handy<\/a> made his last public appearance in 2017 \u2014 almost a decade before being fatally stabbed by his girlfriend\u2019s son.<\/a><\/p>\n

In a photo taken on Sept. 24, 2017, Handy sat beside the cast of the 2021 mockumentary comedy film \u201cSenior Entourage\u201d \u2014 specifically David Lockhart, Ed Asner, Mark Rydell and Helen Reddy, as well as director Brian Connors.<\/p>\n

The group gathered at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California, for an early production concept event for the film, which didn\u2019t come out until four years later.<\/p>\n

Handy wore a fancy button-down shirt, black pants and black shoes in his final public appearance.<\/p>\n

The late actor played Father MacGuffin in the movie, dubbed the \u201c\u2018Seinfeld\u2019 for seniors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Connors directed the independent film, which did not have a wide theatrical release.<\/p>\n

Handy was brutally stabbed to death by his girlfriend\u2019s son in Los Angeles on Wednesday. He was 81.<\/p>\n

Authorities told The California Post that he had been rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead after being found unconscious in the front yard of a Tarzana, California home with multiple stab wounds to the chest. <\/p>\n

Cops had responded to a 911 call where the caller said, \u201cI am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Gledhill, 44, has been named as the suspect in the attack.<\/p>\n

Gledhill \u2014 who was living with his mother, Handy\u2019s girlfriend, at the time of the stabbing \u2014 allegedly waved down officers a short time later and told them he was the one they were looking for, police said.<\/p>\n

In chilling surveillance footage<\/a>, Gledhill could be seen walking away from the bloody scene before returning and surrendering himself to the police.<\/p>\n

Gledhill\u2019s bail is currently set at $2 million.<\/p>\n

The suspect, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill (seen above), allegedly lived at the residence with his mother, who was dating Handy. Fox11<\/p>\n

Police said Gledhill identified himself as the attacker and was arrested on suspicion of murder. Fox11<\/p>\n

Handy was best known for playing an exterminator in 1995\u2019s \u201cJumanji\u201d and a bartender named Jimmy in 2022\u2019s \u201cTop Gun: Maverick.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

He made numerous one-off appearances on TV shows over the years, like \u201cQuantum Leap,\u201d \u201cNYPD Blue,\u201d \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210,\u201d \u201cMelrose Place,\u201d \u201cThe West Wing,\u201d \u201cThe Practice\u201d and \u201cCastle.\u201d<\/p>\n
