EAST GOSHEN, Pa. (WPVI) — A black bear has been spotted multiple times in parts of Chester County, including on a homeowner’s porch in East Goshen.<\/p>\n

Video shared from the area shows the animal wandering onto a residential porch.<\/p>\n

In Willistown, Michael Brooks said he first noticed something unusual when bird feeders at his home were knocked over.<\/p>\n

“This entire pole was pushed down almost flat to the ground,” Brooks said.<\/p>\n

Brooks said he later spotted the animal while sitting outside with his wife.<\/p>\n

“Just over our property line, we saw this big black bear, just walking from north to south, looked over at us,” he said.<\/p>\n

The bear also left behind a paw print on one of the feeders. Police believe it is the same animal seen about three miles away on a porch in East Goshen.<\/p>\n

The recent sightings come amid a series of bear encounters reported across the region in recent weeks. In Montgomery County last week<\/a>, another bear was captured in a neighborhood and later tranquilized by game wardens and relocated.<\/p>\n

Officials with the Pennsylvania Game Commission said Friday that the area typically sees two to three bears this time of year, but described the current number of sightings as unusual.<\/p>\n

Authorities are urging residents to take precautions and report any bear sightings to help track the animal’s movements.<\/p>\n

Brooks said he plans to be more cautious moving forward and hopes to keep his bird feeders intact.<\/p>\n
