Zadok Yohanna has joined a Premier League rival of Chelsea despite his club accepting an offer from Stamford Bridge\"Brighton<\/p>\n

Brighton have confirmed the signing of exciting winger Zadok Yohanna despite Swedish club AIK accepting a bid from Chelsea. The 18-year-old has been linked to a whole host of Premier League clubs with the Blues and Newcastle United lodging \u20ac25million (\u00a321.6m) that were accepted.<\/p>\n

Despite that, he has chosen to join Brighton with the Seagulls announcing his arrival on Saturday evening after opening talks last weekend.<\/p>\n

Their club statement read: “Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed the signing of winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract until June 2031 for undisclosed terms.<\/p>\n

“Zadok will complete his move to the club when the transfer window reopens and it will be subject to the usual regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

“The 18-year-old Nigerian, who turns 19 later this month, will join us having established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe, after making a big impact in Sweden\u2019s top division this season.”<\/p>\n

Chelsea’s interest was somewhat surprising given they signed Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens last summer with Pedro Neto and Estevao already at the club.<\/p>\n

Multiple changes in the dugout did not help the Blues when it came to building any consistency as they finished tenth, outside of the European qualification spots.<\/p>\n

New manager Xabi Alonso will be aiming to make an immediate impression<\/a> at Stamford Bridge but he may be forced to do so without some key players.<\/p>\n

Both Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez have caused controversy with comments on their futures and therefore could leave ahead of the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n

Incomings are also a clear priority with Morgan Rogers emerging as a target for those at Stamford Bridge<\/a> and several other Premier League clubs.<\/p>\n

Arsenal look to be the favourites to sign him over the Blues, Manchester United and Liverpool if he does depart Aston Villa this summer.<\/p>\n

Though Chelsea have missed out on Yohanna, Valentin Barco is set to join the west Londoners on a permanent deal after impressing at sister-club Strasbourg.<\/p>\n
