Gasly finished third on the road in Monte Carlo, for what would have been his first podium of the year, but finished seventh after receiving pit-lane speeding penalties.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Gasly received two different penalties in a race affected by a high number of pit-lane speeding incidents, including for Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Oscar Piastri.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
The bar to successfully appeal and overturn a penalty in a Right of Review is incredibly high.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
For it to be successful, the applicant, in this case Alpine, must present “a significant and relevant new element” of evidence which was not available to the stewards at the time of the penalty being handed out.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
In 2025, Williams successfully did so after new camera evidence emerged after Carlos Sainz collided with Liam Lawson at the Dutch Grand Prix, which proved his innocence.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
