Still, with 27.12% and 26.69% of the vote respectively so far, Raman and Pratt are both well behind the 250,871 ballots for incumbent Karen Bass and her 34.68%. Bass gained 15,691 votes since the last ballot drop of June 6. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEven though everyone acknowledged there were many many more votes still to be counted, by late June 2 both Bass and Pratt <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/06\/spencer-pratt-karen-bass-l-a-mayor-election-results-runoff-1236939564\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">seemed well on the way to a showdown on November 3.  <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThat script has been flipped to some degree with today\u2019s results.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs a political organizer, Raman has shown serious muscle by taking a big bite into the more than 40,000 vote lead Pratt had over the two-term local politician on June 3, the day after the state and local primary in California. With more ballot drops to come, no final definition has been made yet if it will be progressive Raman or incendiary Reality TV vet Pratt,<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/spencer-pratt-l-a-mayor-reality-show-1236905334\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> who has a new unscripted<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/spencer-pratt-l-a-mayor-reality-show-1236905334\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/spencer-pratt-l-a-mayor-reality-show-1236905334\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">show on his campaign in the mix,<\/a> who ultimately ends up taking on Mayor Bass in the fall \u2014 but there is certainly a trend happening. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTo that, one of the candidates is taking a cautious but optimistic stance going into a new week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe are encouraged by the latest vote count and remain grateful to the thousands of Angelenos who have powered this campaign,\u201d Raman told Deadline Sunday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOn the other hand, those thousands of Angelenos may find their votes and the process by which they have been tallied under additional scrutiny in the coming days and weeks. Whether or not Raman\u2019s new lead lasts, Pratt might be thinking of ordering movers one way or another as the likelihood of him prevailing in the heavily Democratic metropolis seems slim. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA lightening speed reaction from Bass\u2019 side on today\u2019s results indicates the incumbent isn\u2019t feeling all warm and fuzzy towards her former close ally Raman right now. \u201cWe look forward to winning a contest against an opponent who allows encampments near schools and fights against hiring more cops, yet is MIA on saving Hollywood jobs and fighting back when ICE invades LA,\u201d Bass campaign spokesperson Alex Stack said in a statement Sunday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPratt was far less direct in a post on X, with a big anecdotal wink, wink, nudge, nudge implication to L.A.\u2019s homeless crisis. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThen there is well-known election denier and doubter Trump, who has already thrown shade on California\u2019s admittance of mail in ballots cast on Primary Day June 2 itself.
