The NBA Finals between the New York Knicks<\/a> and San Antonio Spurs<\/a> are underway, and with a 2-0 lead in the series, the New York Knicks are just two games away from the franchise\u2019s first NBA title since 1973.<\/p>\n

However, should the Knicks complete a four-game sweep, many fans will be priced out of seeing the win in person, with the get-in prices for the games at Madison Square Garden being thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n

Predictably, the high prices aren\u2019t impacting United States President and billionaire Donald Trump\u2019s ability to attend the game, and he confirmed his plans to attend Game 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a Knick fan for a long time<\/a>, and I\u2019m also a Jim Dolan fan. He\u2019s a nice guy, OK? He spent a long time wanting to win and he\u2019s a competitive guy and he\u2019s got a team that\u2019s amazing. I don\u2019t think they\u2019ve lost a playoff game. Can you imagine that?\u201d the President said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe answer is yes, he\u2019s invited, and I\u2019m going.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President also didn\u2019t appear overly concerned<\/a> about what the ticket prices might mean for everyday fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the way life goes,\u201d Trump said when the cheapest tickets were priced at $8,000. \u201cNow, if the team wasn\u2019t a big success, you could go very easily. That\u2019s just the way life is.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, on Monday, the day of Game 3, ticket prices have plummeted, with the get-in price falling as low as $4,749, via TickPick.<\/a><\/p>\n

Predictably, fans didn\u2019t feel bad at all about the price drop, but are well aware that prices are still out of reach for most people.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet it hit rock bottom, that would be lovely,\u201d one fan posted on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cStill $5k to watch Brunson<\/a> flop and Wemby<\/a> get hacked while MSG sells $20 beers? NBA fans are cooked,\u201d someone else added.<\/p>\n

\u201cA $6,000 drop and the cheapest ticket is still $4,749. That\u2019s not a price crash, that\u2019s just rich people getting a slightly better deal. Most fans are still watching from the couch,\u201d another person added.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, in the future, something is done in future seasons to ensure that the fans who make sports so special aren\u2019t barred from witnessing things.<\/p>\n
