ANN ARBOR, Mich. \u2013 The Michigan Wolverines<\/a> men\u2019s basketball program announced that it will play a home-and-home series against the Villanova Wildcats.<\/p>\n

The Wolverines made the announcement on Wednesday (Aug. 6) that they will play the first game in Ann Arbor<\/a> at Crisler Center<\/a> on Tuesday, Dec. 9.<\/p>\n

The return game at Villanova has not been announced, nor have the TV and tip-off times been revealed.<\/p>\n

The matchup will be the seventh and eighth game between the Wolverines and Villanova.<\/p>\n

Michigan trails the all-time series 4-2, with the last games resulting in a 63-55 loss in the 2022 NCAA Tournament\u2019s Sweet 16.<\/p>\n

Three of the six series games have been in the NCAA Tournament, including the 2018 national title game, in which Michigan fell 79-62.<\/p>\n

Overall, five of the six games have been played at a neutral site.<\/p>\n

The lone campus game was part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games at Villanova on Nov. 14, 2018, which the University of Michigan won 73-46 at Finneran Pavilion.<\/p>\n

Michigan returned to basketball relevance following Dusty May<\/a>\u2019s first year as the head coach during the 2024-25 season, where they recorded a 27-10 record while winning the Big Ten Tournament and advancing to the Sweet 16 for a sixth straight NCAA Tournament.<\/p>\n
