Although he didn’t make the final cut of I Know What You Did Last Summer, perhaps Nicholas Alexander Chavez will live to see another sequel.

Following his and Lola Tung‘s scene getting cut from writer/director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson‘s requel to the 1997 teen slasher film, the Emmy winner shared his reaction and whether he’d return for a future installment.

“I mean, Jennifer is a good friend,” he told Us Weekly. “She’s really, really cool people, and, you know, me and Lola had a really, really good time. But, like, look — that’s filmmaking.”

Chavez added, “All I could think about was my time that I spent in Australia, which was hanging out with kangaroos, going on hot air balloon adventures over the plains at sunrise, going cherry picking with my girlfriend. That’s actually all I remember when I think about that movie.”

When asked which character he played in the deleted scene, Chavez said, “That’s left to other people!”

      "Chase

Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Madelyn Cline in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ (2025)

And with the possibility of a sequel heavily hinted in the final scenes, the actor sounds open to giving the horror franchise another go.

“You know, ask me tomorrow, I’ll have a million different answers for you,” said Chavez. “The only thing that matters at this point in my career is just doing good material with people who I love and people who I believe in and who believe in me.”

After Deadline exclusively reported Chavez and Tung’s casting in IKWYDLS, Robinson recently explained why their characters didn’t end up on the screen.

“In every movie, it’s best laid plans, and then you edit the movie and you put it together and you go, ‘I love this in a vacuum. This is a fantastic scene. But it doesn’t fit in the movie,’” she told People. “It was just one of those situations where it had nothing to do with Lola and Nicholas — they are both so fantastic. I really would love to work with them again. I loved working with them. They did a fabulous job. But in the larger tapestry of the film, it just didn’t fit.”

Robinson said the decision “sucks because you don’t want to do that to those actors,” adding: “And it sucks when you love something as a scene but that scene just doesn’t work in the final cut of the film.”

Although he didn’t make the final cut of I Know What You Did Last Summer, perhaps Nicholas Alexander…

[52
88,13729,20077,10552,206,14708
post-69311","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-movies","tag-entertainment","tag-i-know-what-you-did-last-summer","tag-jennifer-kaytin-robinson","tag-lola-tung","tag-movies","tag-nicholas-alexander-chavez
["GET
