{"id":69438,"date":"2025-08-09T06:32:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-09T06:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/69438\/"},"modified":"2025-08-09T06:32:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-09T06:32:16","slug":"new-york-golf-course-vandalized-for-second-time-this-year-could-take-full-year-to-recover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/69438\/","title":{"rendered":"New York golf course vandalized for second time this year; could take full year to recover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The 2025 season was supposed to be a celebration for the new owners of North Shore Golf Club, who purchased the Central New York property two years ago, knowing the 9-hole golf course was set to turn 100 years old.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Unfortunately, after vandals destroyed the course last weekend, Robert Caione and his wife will be looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000 in repairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">An ATV shredded a pair of holes on the course that sits roughly 45 minutes from Syracuse, just on the north shore of Oneida Lake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;It&#8217;s a sad situation with tire tracks all around the back side of the green, two or three passes,&#8221; Caione said on a Facebook video. &#8220;It looks like they actually stopped and actually dug holes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.localsyr.com\/news\/local-news\/security-cameras-show-an-atv-speeding-off-after-ripping-through-north-shore-golf-club\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMAodxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFLSnZOSGwybHY5STR5OUlTAR4U28Hjzzlxdw2ioKPOilejDoK9YCBGipWycdIr40cOLxKwQ34hPFSP0qbETA_aem_0LbsgGVDQdZP8vFSJ5m4uA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:a story at WSYR-9 in Syracuse;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a story at WSYR-9 in Syracuse<\/a>, this marks the second time this summer someone has vandalized the property and the<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Caione believes someone on an ATV damaged the course.
