Colorado head coach Deion Sanders provided an update on his health as he prepares for the 2026 college football season.<\/p>\n
“I’m healthy,” Sanders said during a Tuesday appearance on Good Morning America (1:11 mark). “I got my health back. I got my swagger back.”<\/p>\n
“You know, last year at this time, I’m fighting cancer,” he added. “I didn’t know which way it was going to go.”<\/p>\n
Sanders underwent bladder removal and reconstruction\u00a0surgery\u00a0last year following a bladder cancer diagnosis, eventually announcing<\/a> that he was cancer-free in July 2025.<\/p>\n The 58-year-old also underwent<\/a> surgery to treat blood clots three months later before undergoing another procedure<\/a> related to his blood clots in March.<\/p>\n Sanders is entering his fourth season patrolling the sidelines for the Buffaloes, owning a 16-21 overall record.
