{"id":694958,"date":"2026-06-10T04:58:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T04:58:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/694958\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T04:58:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T04:58:17","slug":"arizona-wide-receiver-jaden-baldwin-continues-family-legacy-by-committing-to-pitt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/694958\/","title":{"rendered":"Arizona wide receiver Jaden Baldwin continues family legacy by committing to Pitt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s just something about Pitt and the Baldwin family.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Baldwin, a five-star receiver recruit from Aliquippa, starred for the Panthers from 2008-10, following in the footsteps of his father, Jeffrey, a defensive lineman at Pitt from 1981-84.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/jaden-baldwin-46145701\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Jaden Baldwin<\/a>, a Class of 2027 receiver and Jon Baldwin\u2019s son, decided to continue his family\u2019s legacy in Oakland by committing to the Panthers.<\/p>\n<p>Jaden Baldwin attends Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz., and is ranked by 247Sports as a three-star recruit.<\/p>\n<p>Last fall as a junior, he hauled in 64 passes for 820 yards and six scores.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My recruitment is 100% shut down. I am committing to the University of Pittsburgh to continue the legacy. I would like to thank God, my parents, teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me along this journey. Hail to Pitt!! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/p1EKaCfVhV\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/p1EKaCfVhV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jaden Baldwin (@_jadenbaldwin) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_jadenbaldwin\/status\/2064397020891357258?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">June 9, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>He is the first prospect from Arizona to join <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/pittsburgh\/season\/2027-football\/commits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pitt\u2019s Class of 2027<\/a>, now up to 22 verbal commitments, and the fourth wideout after Ajavion Willis, Jacob Thomas and Alex Fontenot.<\/p>\n<p>247Sports ranks Pitt\u2019s class No. 22 in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>A 5-foot-11, 180-pounder, Baldwin chose Pitt over a plethora of Power Four options such as Arizona State, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Syracuse, Penn State, Texas A&amp;M and others.<\/p>\n<p>Per Jack Carlough of 247Sports, Baldwin had an official visit planned for Colorado this upcoming weekend, which he canceled by committing to Pitt.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"There\u2019s just something about Pitt and the Baldwin family.
