{"id":696074,"date":"2026-06-10T17:59:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T17:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/696074\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T17:59:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T17:59:13","slug":"homepod-gets-better-in-two-new-ways-with-ios-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/696074\/","title":{"rendered":"HomePod gets better in two new ways with iOS 27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/homepod-ios-27-fi.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple\u2019s HomePod products were largely absent from the company\u2019s WWDC announcements this week, but there are two improvements coming in iOS 27\u2014with more set to be unveiled this fall.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 27 improves AirPlay and adds AutoMix to HomePods<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/homepod-2-top.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-941155\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re a HomePod user, iOS 27 isn\u2019t the most exciting update\u2014at least not yet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So far, Apple has only confirmed two ways the HomePod will get better with its OS 27 versions.<\/p>\n<p>AutoMix for Apple Music<\/p>\n<p>Faster AirPlay connections from iPhone<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AutoMix is an Apple Music feature that launched in iOS 26 <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/09\/24\/heres-everything-new-for-apple-music-in-ios-26\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"1007505\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last year<\/a> for DJ-style transitions between songs. But HomePod was left out, limited to the older Crossfade feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now with iOS 27 and HomePod 27, Apple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/2026\/06\/apple-unveils-innovative-features-and-intelligence-experiences-across-services\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">says<\/a> that the HomePod will gain the full AutoMix experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, in highlighting performance improvements and refinements in iOS 27, Apple listed the following on a WWDC slide: <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faster AirPlay connections to Apple TV and HomePod<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These two changes are nice to have, but rumors indicate there are bigger HomePod upgrades coming that won\u2019t be revealed until this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Siri AI expected to come to HomePod via new hardware<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/siri-ai.jpg\" alt=\"Siri AI\" class=\"wp-image-1055893\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rumors have long indicated that Apple has a new HomePod and HomePod mini launching soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were originally expected late last year, but Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/04\/02\/apple-reportedly-has-four-new-products-ready-to-launch-pending-one-thing\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> the products were pushed back due to delays with Siri\u2019s AI overhaul.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, expectations are that Apple will hold these products until the fall, when Siri AI launches to all users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, all signs indicate that we\u2019ll get a HomePod 3 and HomePod mini 2 in or near September, and iOS 27 and HomePod 27 should bring the upgraded Siri AI experience to those devices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will Siri AI come to older HomePod hardware?
