Although\u00a0NBA free agent LeBron James\u00a0may keep things cordial with the Spurs, it seems like he has a lot to say about the Alamo City itself \u2014 and none of it comes off as postcard material.<\/p>\n
During a Tuesday \u201cMind the Game\u201d podcast episode<\/a> alongside Steve Nash,\u00a0James roasted San Antonio and its iconic River Walk while explaining why he believes the city\u2019s \u201cain\u2019t doing (expletive)\u201d atmosphere\u00a0supposedly\u00a0gave the Knicks an early series advantage.<\/p>\n He began his comments around 27 minutes into the video, arguing that opening the series in San Antonio helped keep the\u00a0Knicks grounded. In so many words, he suggested that \u201cstarting off on the road\u201d was preferable to opening at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks’\u00a0fervent fan base could\u2019ve created a particularly intense atmosphere.<\/p>\n \u201cKnicks fans right now, are so (expletive) insane<\/a> and crazy<\/a> right now for a finals game,\u201d James said. \u201cI can only imagine if Game 1 started at Madison Square Garden,\u201d he added. \u201cPeople asking for tickets, people wanting to be in there, the fans, all that\u2026 City\u2019s on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, he dug into San Antonio: \u201cI think just them having a level of being in San Antonio. I mean, San Antonio, you know, we focus on basketball. You ain\u2019t doing (expletive)\u00a0in San Antonio. Nothing at all. Nothing. And I mean nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n Nash piled on, asking \u201cyou\u2019re not getting on the River Walk?\u201d before James replied: \u201cHell no.
