US \u2060President Donald Trump \u2060said on Wednesday that the United States \u2060might not renew its free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico and criticised trade deficits with those countries, although he said he was talking with their leaders about the matter.<\/p>\n

The three countries need to approve \u200ca renewal of their existing agreement by July 1 or signal their intention to exit the pact, a process that would take 10 years and would buy time for alterations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not looking to renew it,\u201d Trump said at the White House.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need anything that Canada has. We don\u2019t need anything that \u2060Mexico has, but they need everything that we have. They have to treat us \u200cbetter.\u201d<\/p>\n

The US Trade Representative\u2019s Office has said the US and Mexico will hold a second round of negotiations in Washington June 16 \u200cand 17, focused on agriculture and \u201ca level playing field\u201d, with a third \u2060set of talks \u2060in Mexico City scheduled for the week of July 20.<\/p>\n
