Each of Vladimir Guerrero Jr<\/a>.\u2019s three home runs this season has come on the road. The Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>first baseman<\/a> has now played in 32 consecutive games at Rogers Centre without going deep, the longest homerless streak of his career. His previous high was 31 games in 2023, according to Daniele Franceschi of Sportsnet.<\/p>\n

Guerrero tied that mark Monday in a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> and passed it Tuesday, going 1-for-4 in a win. He has not homered anywhere since May 17, when he hit a solo shot at Detroit<\/a>\u2019s Comerica Park. The drought stands out with the type of hitter that he is.<\/p>\n

Guerrero tied for the MLB<\/a> lead with 48 home runs in 2021 and averages 29 homers a 162-game span since his debut in 2019. Guerrero’s power also showed up on the biggest stage, launching eight homers in Toronto\u2019s run to the 2025 World Series.<\/p>\n

His eye at the plate has not gone away. Guerrero is batting .282 with a .371 on-base percentage. However, his average exit velocity is down to 90.4 mph this season from 92 mph in 2025, according to Baseball Savant<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Guerrero has said that he’s been working with Toronto’s hitting staff, working on his swing mechanics, trying to get more lift on the ball. He gets his next chance to end the streak on Wednesday against Philadelphia, then in a weekend series against the New York Yankees<\/a> on Friday. The Blue Jays need Guerrero’s power back in the lineup as they contend for a playoff spot in the highly competitive AL East.<\/p>\n
