{"id":697292,"date":"2026-06-11T07:34:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T07:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/697292\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T07:34:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T07:34:09","slug":"breaking-news-van-oord-kicks-off-lincolnshire-beach-nourishment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/697292\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING NEWS: Van Oord kicks off Lincolnshire beach nourishment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Van Oord has started the beach nourishment works to help reduce flood risk for Lincolnshire\u2019s coastal communities, on behalf of the Environment Agency.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/beach-nourishment-768x479.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large\" alt=\"\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>photo courtesy of Van Oord<\/p>\n<p>According to Van Oord, over the next 4 to 5 weeks, around 300,000 cubic meters of sand will be pumped onto the beaches using the Vox Alexia \u2013 one of their LNG trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs). <\/p>\n<p>This dredger has a significantly lower carbon footprint than conventional TSHDs.
