For Dennis Quaid, his way of life in Nashville has more substance. <\/p>\n
The \u201cFar from Heaven\u201d actor, 72, shared the real reason why he and wife Laura Savoie, 33, ditched his longtime residence in Los Angeles in 2020 for Tennessee.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt used to be such a great town and the \u201990s was nice,\u201d Quaid told Fox News Digital<\/a> at CMA Fest over the weekend.<\/p>\n He added that LA has \u201cbeen kind of going downhill\u201d lately and he \u201cfeel[s] like people pay these\u00a0taxes\u00a0for no services.\u201d<\/p>\n Dennis Quaid, pictured above in 1998, addressed why he and wife Laura Savoie left Los Angeles for Nashville in a new interview. Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images<\/p>\n The \u201cParent Trap\u201d actor, seen above earlier this month at CMA Fest, told Fox News Digital that LA has \u201cbeen kind of going downhill.\u201d Getty Images<\/p>\n Quaid explained that the 2025 wildfires<\/a> exposed \u201call those things that go on that should be taken care of.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, Quaid was forced to evacuate his Brentwood neighborhood home in LA.<\/p>\n More than 18,000 homes and structures were destroyed by the flames while 31 people died<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSo people are \u2014 people are angry and half angry, and they\u2019re half kind of feel like giving up, to tell you the truth,\u201d Quaid continued to the outlet. <\/p>\n Quaid (seen here at CMA Fest) was forced to evacuate his Brentwood home during the Southern California wildfires last year. It used to be such a fantastic town. It was. It was a great community, too. And something\u2019s happened. People need to be inspired there.\u201d<\/p>\n Quaid also weighed in on the LA mayoral race, stating, \u201cI hope Pratt wins.\u201d<\/p>\n Quaid, pictured above in 1981, said he hopes Spencer Pratt wins the LA mayoral race, though the reality star is not currently poised to advance to the runoff election in November. What are you talking about? Why? Just look around, man.\u201d<\/p>\n However, as of Monday night, the top two candidates advancing <\/a>to the November runoff are Karen Bass, the incumbent mayor, and Nithya Raman.<\/p>\n Pratt, 42, has yet to comment on his current standing in the race.<\/p>\n
