Shakira’s new single \u201cDai Dai\u201d featuring rapper Burna Boy is being hailed as the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 song<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When the Latin pop superstar released \u201cDai Dai\u201d in May, she cheekily announced on Instagram, “The @fifaworldcup 2026 starts now!”<\/p>\n

The upbeat song celebrates the idea of triumphing over adversity \u2014 and what hard-working athlete can’t relate to that?<\/p>\n

\u201cKnew from the day you were born\/Here in this place, you belong\/You\u2019ve been this brave all along\/What broke you once made you strong,\u201d Shakira sings.<\/p>\n

Both Shakira and Burna Boy will perform during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico on June 11. Might fans see the duo join forces on a live rendition of \u201cDai Dai”?<\/p>\n

Shakira will hit the stage a second time when she performs alongside fellow superstars Madonna and BTS during the\u00a0first-ever halftime show\u00a0<\/a>at the FIFA World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Nicknamed the Queen of the World Cup, Shakira has been a frequent presence at World Cups dating back 20 years. <\/p>\n

In 2006,\u00a0she and Wyclef Jean performed<\/a>\u00a0\u201cHips Don\u2019t Lie\u201d and \u201cBamboo\u201d at the World Cup’s closing ceremony in Germany.<\/p>\n

In 2010, the Colombian singer contributed the official FIFA World Cup song, \u201cWaka Waka (This Time for Africa)<\/a>.” She went on to perform it at both the opening and\u00a0closing ceremonies<\/a>\u00a0in South Africa. <\/p>\n

Four years later, she returned to the 2014 World Cup to\u00a0perform \u201cLa La La (Brazil 2014)\u201d<\/a>\u00a0with Carlinhos Brown at the closing ceremony in Brazil. <\/p>\n
