The renewal comes six days before the show concludes its first season; the finale is scheduled for June 17.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tApple TV has also signed Widow\u2019s Bay creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/katie-dippold\/\" id=\"auto-tag_katie-dippold_1\" data-tag=\"katie-dippold\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Katie Dippold<\/a> to a multi-year overall deal. She\u2019ll continue to serve as showrunner of the series and also develop new projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWidow\u2019s Bay has earned critical praise (and some famous fans) over the course of its first season. Dippold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/widows-bay-feature-behind-the-scenes-matthew-rhys-1236619045\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that she\u2019s had the show in her head for nearly 20 years \u2014 and almost sold a version it to Amazon in 2013 before pulling it back. \u201cI\u00a0just had this bad feeling,\u201d she said. \u201cI put a pin in it. I just knew it wasn\u2019t ready. I knew I hadn\u2019t thought enough about the show or the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tApple Studios produces Widow\u2019s Bay. Dippold writes and executive produces with Hiro Murai (who directed five of the season\u2019s 10 episodes), Carver Karaszewski, Claudia Shin and Rhys. The cast also includes Kate O\u2019Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, Dale Dickey, K Callan and  Jeff Hiller.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cFrom the moment audiences arrived in Widow\u2019s Bay, they\u2019ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created,\u201d said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV. \u201cIt\u2019s become one of those shows everyone\u2019s talking about, and we\u2019re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it.
