Prescott, in fact, needs only six more touchdown passes to surpass Romo\u2019s team-record of 248.<\/p>\n<p>What they don\u2019t have is a Super Bowl ring.<\/p>\n<p>Romo went 2-4 in the postseason in his career, and Prescott is 2-5. <\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys have not played in the NFC Championship Game since 1995, the longest drought in the conference. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why Prescott and Romo aren\u2019t in the same class in Cowboys\u2019 history as Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.<\/p>\n<p>Prescott isn\u2019t alone among Pro Bowl quarterbacks lacking a championship, with Buffalo\u2019s Josh Allen, Baltimore\u2019s Lamar Jackson and Cincinnati\u2019s Joe Burrow among those in the same spot. But Prescott has played longer, and Burrow has played in a Super Bowl and Allen and Jackson have played in conference championship games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you play this position \u2014 I\u2019ve said it before \u2014 how you\u2019re judged is <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/49019755\/nfl-dallas-cowboys-dak-prescott-leadership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">winning that last game<\/a>,\u201d Prescott said this week, via Todd Archer of ESPN. \u201cAnything other than that, you\u2019re warranted to get [the criticism] because you\u2019ve not won that game. If you\u2019re not wired that way and if it\u2019s not what pushes you, you should probably find a different job and a different position. I think we all feel the same and if I know those guys are like me, it\u2019s an obsession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, yeah, it\u2019s about making sure that you give everything that you can to this team and give them the chance to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prescott enters his 11th season as the longest-tenured player on the team. He has gone from an afterthought as a fourth-round pick to the highest-paid player in NFL history, with a deal that runs through 2028.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels like yesterday at times,\u201d Prescott said, \u201cand then you\u2019re watching cutups or clips from maybe plays back then, and I look at myself and realize even the way I looked or the way I\u2019m playing the game, it feels like a long time ago from that standpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dak Prescott and Tony Romo own all of the Cowboys\u2019 major passing records.
