Kyle Schwarber<\/a> is a three-time all-star. In last year\u2019s game, the renowned power hitter secured the win for the National League by hitting a home run on all three swing-off hacks.<\/p>\n

Approaching the midseason festivities in 2026, Schwarber is once again a prime candidate to be selected for the team.<\/p>\n

The game happens to be in his own stomping grounds at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia<\/a>. It\u2019s not often that you get to see a player as good as Schwarber get a chance to play in front of his home crowd during All-Star week.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old signed back with Philadelphia this past winter on a five-year, $150 million contract. This is a massive salary for a primary designated hitter<\/a>, but the numbers certainly back up its worth.<\/p>\n

In 65 games this season, Schwarber is slashing .239\/.358\/.575 with a .933 OPS. He\u2019s already belted 24 home runs and has 42 RBIs.<\/p>\n

The 24 home runs are the most in MLB<\/a>, leading Houston<\/a>\u2019s Yordan Alvarez<\/a> by two. Schwarber\u2019s .575 slugging percentage ranks third.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt about him deserving a selection to this year\u2019s National League All-Star team. The Phillies social media team took to X on Thursday to promote his candidacy.<\/p>\n

In all likelihood, Schwarber will be the second DH to get voted in behind Shohei Ohtani<\/a>. There\u2019s not much Phillies fans can do when matched up with Ohtani\u2019s international fame and influence. It\u2019s even possible that the Dodgers<\/a> superstar will get the start on the mound as well.<\/p>\n

Schwarber has helped Philadelphia stay in their competitive window this year. At 37-31, the Phillies still have some work to do in the standings. They are eight games back of the first-place Atlanta Braves<\/a> in the National League East.<\/p>\n

The club will need every ounce of Schwarber\u2019s heroics in the second half of the season if they are to make a postseason push.<\/p>\n
