Mandatory minicamp is over for the Minnesota Vikings, and the Kyler Murray vs. J.J. McCarthy quarterback competition is the talk of TCO Performance Center. On the latest episode of The Real Forno Show, Tyler Forness and Dave Stefano break down everything that happened — and didn’t happen — this week, including a classic Kevin O’Connell press conference where it seems that he said everything and nothing all at once. From front office roster moves to offensive line updates, this episode is packed with Vikings intel you need heading into training camp.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed the Vikings have a “runway” and a structured plan for the quarterback competition, but NFL insider Tom Pelissero hinted that minicamp may have already given O’Connell what he needs to decide. As Tyler noted on the show, “I have heard things that the winner of that competition may have already been decided.” Meanwhile, J.J. McCarthy’s body language in pressers has been telling: “His tone throughout these pressers is very curt, very short, blunt, and he does not want to be in this situation.” Kyler Murray, meanwhile, is absorbing Kevin O’Connell’s notoriously complex derivative of the West Coast offense — the same system that challenged Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold, and others before him. Tyler also addressed the front office shakeup, defending the retention of Ryan Grigson while challenging fans to “use better data and better qualifications than ‘Indy bad’ or ‘Kwesi bad.’”
