The 2026 World Cup continues with four matchups on Saturday, including an intriguing Group C encounter between Brazil and Morocco.

Brazil is hoping to make a deep run after reaching the quarterfinals in four of the past five World Cups and reaching the semifinal in 2014. Morocco is coming off a Cinderella run in 2022 when they won their group and knocked out Spain and Portugal before falling to France in the semifinals.

Scotland is also in action today as it will face Haiti, while the USMNT‘s next two opponents, Australia and Türkiye, face off in the final match of the day.

Switzerland and Qatar kicked off Saturday’s action and the Swiss dominated the match in almost every way, but they were forced to settle for a draw after a last-gasp goal from Qatar’s Boualem Khoukhi. The Canadians scored on a penalty kick by Breel Embolo in the 17th minute and had 23 shots (seven on goal) in the game, but they’ll only get one point for Saturday’s outing after the dramatic finish.

A beautiful finish from Ismael Saibari off a perfect pass that split the Brazilian defense gives Morocco a 1-0 lead before the first hydration break.

Morocco is now a +130 favorite to win on the money line, with Brazil at +220 and the draw at +230.

What a counter by Morocco. As Brazil was looking better, Morocco just slices through the middle of Brazil’s midfield and defense after regaining possession in its own half with a great pass from Brahim Diaz and Ismail Saibari dips in a lovely goal over Alisson.

After a dozen or so minutes of Morocco pinning Brazil back to start the game, Brazil has looked much more incisive and lively as the first hydration break approaches.

Vini Jr. with a phenomenal cross over the Moroccan back line to Igor Thiago, but Thiago can’t get his head to it.

Brazil probably snipes a 1-0 lead if Thiago can make contact. He had acres of space and a wide open goal.

You wouldn’t know Morocco is the underdog from the first 12 minutes of play, which the Atlas Lions have absolutely dominated with over 60% of possession.

Brazil hasn’t lost a World Cup opener in 92 years (!!!) dating back to a 1-3 defeat to Spain in 1934.

Since then: 17 wins, 3 draws (47-14 goal differential).

Morocco threatening early… still 0-0

Morocco has dominated the opening minutes and had a great chance off a cross from Noussair Mazraoui in the sixth minute. But Neil El Aynaoui’s shot was blocked by Guimarães with Alisson not in a position to make the save.

Just a minute later, a diagonal shot to the far post from Achraf Hakimi went wide of the Brazil net.

The betting public has likely at least heard of a few player’s on Brazil’s roster. Morocco? Not as much.

Over 80% of bets and total dollars wagered at multiple sportsbooks are on Brazil (-150) to win.

There are a lot of similarities through the first two games in Group B.

Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland and Qatar each have one point. And each scored a goal and gave up a goal.

There’s been nothing on the counter for Qatar in the last 20 minutes. When Qatar does get the ball in Switzerland’s half, it’s best opportunity has been a deflected cross from Akram Afif easily into the hands of Swiss goalie Gregor Kobel.
