Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) – For the first time since 2010, a Buffalo Sabres player has been named to an end-of-season NHL-All-Star team. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was named a Second-Team All-Star on Friday, along with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard. The First-Team defensive pairing is Norris Trophy winner Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche), who finished second in Norris Trophy voting.<\/p>\n
Dahlin finished third in voting for the Norris Trophy, but was fourth in All-Star voting with 451 points. Bouchard had 483 points, while Makar had 759 points and Werenski had 864 points. <\/p>\n
No other Sabres player received a vote for the NHL All-Star rosters, including 40-goal scorer Tage Thompson.<\/p>\n
Dahlin is the first Sabres player since Ryan Miller in the 2009-10 season to be named to an end-of-season All-Star Team. That year Miller was a First-Team All-Star after winning the Vezina Trophy as the league’s best goalie.<\/p>\n
