The wrist injury he picked up in Barcelona back in early April has kept him out ever since. It\u2019s been nearly two months now, and there\u2019s still no clear sign of when he might return.<\/p>\n
With the severity of the injury, he pulled out of Roland Garros early and later made the same call for Wimbledon.<\/p>\n
As Alcaraz works through his rehab away from the spotlight, David Ferrer has offered a brief update on how things are progressing.<\/p>\n

David Ferrer shares the latest on Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s recovery<\/p>\n
Ferrer spoke to AS about how the 23-year-old is doing and shared his thoughts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, calm. Reassurance that everything is going well,\u201d Ferrer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe important thing is that Carlos recovers one hundred per cent day by day. You don\u2019t have to think much more. It is an injury that must be taken care of, and the good thing is that Carlos is mentally very good and is in good hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
This update comes after Rafael Nadal recently weighed in on what to expect when Alcaraz eventually makes his return to the tour.<\/p>\n
More players pull out of Wimbledon following Alcaraz\u2019s injury<\/p>\n
Alcaraz\u2019s withdrawal from Wimbledon is, unsurprisingly, the biggest blow that the event could have possibly received.<\/p>\n
However, it is far from the only setback that the Championships have been forced to deal with, as a handful of elite players have now been forced out as well.<\/p>\n

The latest is Victoria Mboko, who picked up an injury at Queen\u2019s, which looked worrying. She joins Hailey Baptiste and Sonay Kartal as two other WTA stars unable to compete.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, on the men\u2019s side, Valentin Vacherot is another of the biggest stars who has withdrawn. There is still fear over the fitness of players like Jack Draper, Lorenzo Musetti and Arthur Fils as well.<\/p>\n
