Bears quarterback Caleb Williams says offseason practices have been more fun this year.<\/p>\n
Williams says that a year ago, he felt like he had been thrown into the deep end of head coach Ben Johnson\u2019s offense. Williams relayed a conversation he had with Bears running backs coach Eric Studesville, in which Williams likened trying to learn everything all at once last year to drowning, but said this year he feels like he can calmly swim through the offseason.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a hell of a lot more fun for me than it was last year,\u201d Williams said. \u201cI was saying it to Coach Studes, \u2018Dude, I feel like I was drowning, trying to breathe or stay alive and wait for a boat to come around last year.\u2019 Now this year, it\u2019s being able to start what we finished last year, play calls and words and verbiage and speak the same language, and now it\u2019s being able to grow more from an earlier stage than maybe doing it a little bit earlier in the season or halfway through the season, speaking on things that really helps throughout the year, and later in the year. That\u2019s the advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n
