National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu say minor coastal flooding is possible during high tides through Tuesday, June 16, as peak monthly high tides will combine with higher-than-expected water levels.<\/p>\n
A coastal flooding statement was issued, alerting the public to the possibility of minor flooding along the shorelines and in low-lying coastal areas throughout the entire state, especially near daily peak tide, which will be during the late afternoon and early evening hours.<\/p>\n
Isolated minor coastal flooding can be expected on vulnerable low-lying coastal roadways and near docks, boat ramps and other coastal infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Flooding of beaches that are normally dry, some minor coastal erosion and saltwater inundation of low-lying roads, docks, boat ramps and other coastal infrastructure also is possible.<\/p>\n
The public is advised:<\/p>\n
Do not drive through flooded roadways.<\/p>\n
Owners of properties in low-lying shoreline areas or near waterways should consider moving any electronics, vehicles or other valuables to higher ground.<\/p>\n
Boaters should monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don\u2019t get too tight and be aware of overwash around boat ramps at high tide.<\/p>\n
